The state of Rio Grande do Sul is suffering from the largest flood in the history of the state. There are MILLIONS of people affected, 600k cannot access their homes, and uncountable deaths. Whole towns disappeared completely and it’s impossible to know the number of houses affected. The people suffer with access to water, food, shelter, and medicine.
To give you an idea, the State of Rio Grande do Sul is about 1/3 of the area of the State of New York. At least 75% of the towns are currently flooded.
In the middle of the chaos, the state survives thanks to the efforts of volunteers, brave men, and women who risk their lives to help in the rescues.
